Job Title: Registered Nurse Profession: Nursing Specialty: Medical-Surgical/Cardiac Duration: 13 weeks Shift: Evening Shift Hours per Shift: 12 hours Experience: 2 years of experience required License: RN License required Certifications: BLS, ACLS, NIHSS Must-Have: - Ability to read and interpret cardiac rhythm strips independently - Experience with cardiac drips (Amiodarone, Cardizem) - Ability to pull sheaths and monitor sheath sites - Pre/Post Cardiac Cath experience (femoral/radial) - Knowledge of chest tube management - Experience with non-titrating nitroglycerin and dobutamine Description: This position involves providing care to high acuity patients in a cardiac setting. The patient population includes post-procedure cardiac patients, those on telemetry, CHF, ENSRD, and stroke patients. The nurse will be part of a staffing model that typically includes 3 RNs per shift. Patient ratios will be 1:4-5 during the day and 1:5 at night. There is shared responsibility for blood draws with phlebotomy support. The unit operates 24/7 with access to respiratory therapy and hospitalists. Experience with the EPIC charting system is required. Floating to other medical-surgical areas is a possibility. Weekends will be rotated every third weekend, and attendance during holidays will be required. Scrubs must be professional in appearance.
