Responsibilities
  • Provide direct nursing care to Medical Surgical and Telemetry patients with a variety of acute and chronic conditions
  • Perform comprehensive patient assessments and monitor changes in patient status
  • Monitor, interpret, and respond to cardiac rhythms and telemetry data
  • Administer medications, IV therapies, blood products, and prescribed treatments
  • Collaborate with physicians, case managers, therapists, and interdisciplinary healthcare teams
  • Educate patients and families regarding diagnoses, treatment plans, medications, and discharge instructions
  • Respond promptly to medical emergencies and changes in patient condition
  • Maintain accurate and timely patient documentation
  • Ensure compliance with patient safety, infection prevention, and quality care standards
  • Support patient recovery and promote positive health outcomes
Requirements
  • Active RN License in Iowa
  • Minimum 2 years of recent Med Surg and/or Telemetry nursing experience
  • Current BLS Certification required
  • ACLS Certification required
  • Strong cardiac rhythm interpretation and patient assessment skills
  • Excellent critical thinking and clinical decision-making abilities
  • Effective communication and teamwork skills
  • Ability to manage multiple patients in a fast-paced acute care setting
  • Commitment to delivering compassionate, patient-centered care
