Job Title: Registered Nurse Profession: Nursing Specialty: Medical/Surgical/Telemetry Duration: 13-26 weeks Shift: Night Hours per Shift: 12 Experience: Minimum 2 years License: NC or Compact license pending OK for submittal Certifications: BCLS Must-Have: - Med/Surg experience - Experience with Heparin and Insulin - Ability to interpret dysrhythmias - Experience with blood product administration Description: RTO after booking is not allowed and cannot be worked out onsite. Any call-offs or additional RTO on the unit may result in a cancellation and DNR. Travel experience is not required, but local candidates are accepted with a rate difference. Patient ratios are typically 1:6-7. Must float to similar units at least once a week. Weekend requirements include working every other weekend and holidays as needed. Contract staff will be expected to work during storms, hurricanes, or in the event of a disaster. Day-to-day patient care includes working with medical/surgical patients. Special procedures on the unit include heparin and insulin drips. Unit systems used include Pyxis and EPIC for medication and documentation. Skills required include management of dysrhythmias, wound care, and PCA management. Candidates must follow isolation precautions and demonstrate peripheral line care/management. Staffing and scheduling is based on identified gaps within the unit. Average daily census includes 41 patients, primarily adults and geriatrics. Interdisciplinary support is available from various departments including physical therapy and pharmacy. Candidates must be willing to float within or near the facility as needed. References may be pending at the time of submission. Modules required may take 2-10 hours and are non-billable.
