● About Facility:
· 920 Church St N, Concord, NC 28025
· Licensed for 457 beds
· Level 3 Trauma
· Stroke center of Excellence
· Bariatric center of Excellence
· Chest Pain Center
· Radius rule: Traveler's permanent address must be 50 miles outside of home unit
● Department Information:
· Census? Average patients/day? 51
· Minimum Years of Experience required? 18 months of Med/Tele RN experience
· Will you accept a first-time traveler? Yes
● Patient Types/Common Diagnoses:
· Chronic diseases, CHF specialty area, Mental Health, Addiction Services for patients requiring 6 weeks of IV abx, COPD, DM, Wounds, Geriatric care
● Required License, National Certification, Certs (BLS, ACLS, etc.), or other position specific requirements such as Driver's License and/or Insurance:
· BLS, ACLS, NIHSS
● Patient Ratios:
· RN: 1:4-6, acuity dependent – surge times could increase to 1:7-8
● Skills required:
· General Med/Tele skillset: Cardiac rhythm interpretation, experience with non-titrating Cardiac drips (Cardizem/Amiodarone), care of patients with tubes/drains, IV start skills, blood products, wound care/dressing changes, etc.
● Support within the Department:
· Nurse Manager, Administrative Clinical Supervisor, Clinical Supervisor, staff RNs, CNA, Clinical Mentor, Rapid Response RN, House Supervisor
● Technology/Equipment:
· EMR: EPIC
· Department specific Equipment: scales, GBS machine, transfer device, vein finder, EKG, crash cart, language interpreter, tele-medicine cart for online assessments of patients, doppler
● Floating:
· Within region and scope of practice
· Will be required to float per region needs – will require floating to all facilities listed below, as needed, within scope of practice – DECLINE if not agreeable
▪ Region 1 - Cabarrus, University City, Stanly, Lake Norman, Central Division (CMC Main + Mercy + LCH (peds only) -- could float to any of the facilities within region if the need arises
▪ If floating mid-shift, Traveler will be paid for the time traveling between facilities (will remain on the clock)
● Orientation (facility and unit):
· NEO
· 2 days departmental
● Scheduling:
· Weekend rotation: every other
· No call required
· Holiday Expectations: Travelers will work 75% of holidays
· RTO: Can approve up to 6 days off, excluding holidays – must add time to the end of the contract if unable to meet contracted hours
· Shift times: 0700-1900 and 1900-0700
· Schedule cycle: 6-week schedules
