Job Title: Registered Nurse Profession: Nursing Specialty: Medical/Surgical/Telemetry Duration: 13 weeks Shift: Night Hours per Shift: 12 Experience: Minimum 2 years of experience in a similar role License: Active nursing license required Certifications: BLS, ACLS, NIHSS preferred Must-Have: - Telemetry experience - Ability to interpret dysrhythmias - Management of dysrhythmias Description: RTO after booking is not allowed. Call-offs or additional RTO on unit could possibly result in a cancellation. Unit accepts first-time travelers. Local candidates are welcome. The unit has a nurse-to-patient ratio of 1:5-6. Contracts for 36 or 48 hours can be offered. Weekend shifts are required every other week. The patient population includes renal and limb preservation patients. Common diagnoses include End-Stage Renal Disease, Acute Renal Failure, chronic heart failure, and diabetic foot ulcers. The unit consists of 41 inpatient beds with telemetry capability. Patients receiving hemodialysis will be treated in a separate hemodialysis unit. Peritoneal dialysis patients will receive care on the unit, initiated by the dialysis team. An interdisciplinary team collaborates daily to ensure optimal patient care. Familiarity with telemetry and EKG lead placement is necessary. Nurses will not perform EKGs; this task is assigned to EKG technicians. Preferred certifications include ACLS and NIHSS. Unit systems used include electronic medical records. Self-scheduling is available based on unit needs. Scrubs are not provided; navy or white colors are required. Candidates must pass EKG testing prior to starting. Candidates should be flexible with unit floating as needed.
