Job Title: RN - MedSurg/Tele Profession: RN Specialty: MedSurg/Tele Duration: 13 weeks Shift: Night Shift Hours per Shift: 12 Experience: Minimum of 18 months of MedSurg/Tele experience License: RN License Certifications: BLS, ACLS, NIHSS Must-Have: Cardiac rhythm interpretation experience Experience with non-titrating cardiac drips (Cardizem/Amiodarone) General medical/surgical skill set EPIC experience Description: We are seeking a Registered Nurse to join our MedSurg/Tele unit. The unit consists of 32 beds with an average census of 32 patients. Patient types include those experiencing strokes, seizures, acute medical situations, generalized weakness, acute kidney injury/chronic kidney disease, falls, cellulitis, and non-healing wounds. The nurse-to-patient ratios are 1:5-6 during days and nights, with potential surge staffing increasing ratios up to 1:7-8. Support within the department includes Certified Nursing Assistants, nurse educators, and a dedicated pharmacist. There is a 24/7 respiratory therapy team available for nebulizer treatments. The clinical support team includes hospitalists and advanced practice providers. Floating will be required within the region and scope of practice. Technology used includes an electronic medical record system. Experience with cardiac monitoring and general acute care MedSurg is essential. This role emphasizes a family-oriented unit culture.
