Job Title: MedSurg/Tele RN Profession: RN Specialty: MedSurg/Tele Duration: 13 weeks Shift: 12hr Night Shift Hours per Shift: 36 Experience: Minimum of 2 years Med/Tele RN experience (Resource Team) preferred. First-time travelers considered. License: Current RN License Certifications: BLS, ACLS, NIHSS Must-Have: General Med/Tele skillset, including stroke experience, cardiac rhythm interpretation, trach care, PIV starts, chest tube management, NGT placement, and drain/tube management. PCA pumps medication management, including cardiac drips, heparin, blood products, and intravenous fluids. Description: We are seeking a MedSurg/Tele RN to join our team. This position involves working in a fast-paced environment with a primary focus on decompressing the emergency department and other specialty areas within the hospital. You will care for adult and geriatric patients with common diagnoses, including COPD exacerbation, pneumonia, CHF exacerbation, and others. Patient ratios may vary by unit, typically including 1:4 ratios for RNs in designated areas, with acuity-dependent adjustments possible. Support within the department includes CNA support for vital signs, hygiene care, and patient assistance. A secretary manages administrative tasks to support nursing staff, and there is 24/7 coverage from resource nurses and hospitalists. The nursing team is responsible for telemetry monitoring, with no separate tele tech staff. You may be required to float within the region as needed. Flexibility regarding schedule and weekend rotation is expected. Travelers are required to work a percentage of holidays and must adhere to time-off policies.
