Job Title: Registered Nurse Profession: RN Specialty: MedSurg/Tele Duration: 13 weeks Shift: 12-hour Night Shift Hours per Shift: 36 Experience: Minimum of 2 years in requested specialty License: Required Certifications: ACLS, BLS, NIHSS, CPI (CPI will be provided if not held) Must-Have: Basic arrhythmia interpretation, nursing skills with knowledge of cardiac drips, neuro, cardiac, pulmonary, ortho, trauma, and surgical patients. Description: Registered Nurse - MedSurg/Tele position available. Facility has 361 licensed beds and a Level 2 Trauma Designation. The facility is a teaching hospital with a residency program. The emergency department serves general patients for trauma, cardiac events, strokes, and more. Medical-Surgical floors handle a variety of diagnoses including cellulitis, vascular dementia, and more. Two North specializes in oncology care, including immunocompromised and end-of-life patients. Four East focuses on orthopedic medical and surgical patients. Four South addresses general surgery and trauma cases. Four Central manages pulmonology patients with acute respiratory failure and COPD. Six Central caters to patients requiring vascular and bariatric surgery. Critical care areas include neurology stepdown and cardiac stepdown units. Critical care areas also manage an observation unit for decision-making overflow. An ICU serves combined medical, surgical, neuro, and cardiac patients. Required skills include Foley catheter management, PCA, epidural care, and drainage management. The department offers support staff including CNAs, nurse techs, respiratory therapists, and others. Technology used includes EMR systems and various specialized equipment. Floating may occur to all medical-surgical and critical care areas. Weekend rotation is required every other weekend. Holiday expectations involve 70% of holidays.
