Job Title: RN - MedSurg/Tele Profession: Registered Nurse Specialty: MedSurg/Telemetry Duration: 13 weeks Shift: 12-hour Night Shift Hours per Shift: 36 Experience: Minimum 18 months Med/Tele RN experience License: Current RN License Certifications: BLS, ACLS, NHSS Must-Have: - General Med-Surg RN skills - IV starts - Drain/tube management - Wound care - NGT placement - Central line management - Ability to manage non-titrating cardiac drips (Cardizem, Amiodarone, Heparin) - Blood product administration Description: We are seeking a MedSurg/Tele Registered Nurse. The facility has 174 licensed beds. It has no trauma designation and operates as a teaching hospital. The unit consists of 45 beds. The patient population includes general surgeries, orthopedics, COPD, stroke, diabetes, and other general Med-Surg conditions. Patient ratios are RN: 1:5-6, LPN: 1:5-6, and CNA: 1:8-9. There is support from CNAs for nursing assistance, ADLs, ambulation, and meal assistance. Receptionists and Charge Nurses are also available. A phlebotomy team supports the nursing staff. There is an IV/VAT team. Resource Nurses provide team support. Telemetry monitoring is centralized and available 24/7. The facility uses EMR technology and other essential medical equipment, including IV pumps and telemetry monitors. Floating within the region and scope of practice is required, as needed. Travelers will be expected to work 75% of holidays and can have up to 6 days off, excluding holidays. Weekend rotations are required every other weekend.
