Job Title: Registered Nurse - MedSurg/Tele Profession: Registered Nurse Specialty: MedSurg/Tele Duration: 13 weeks Shift: Night Shift Hours per Shift: 12 hours Experience: Minimum 2 years Med/Tele RN experience License: Current RN license Certifications: BLS, Basic Cardiac Rhythm required; ACLS preferred Must-Have: Strong clinical assessment and med-surg nursing skills Experience with trach care, chest tube management, IV insertion, and care Ability to manage insulin drips, heparin drips, and titrate heart rate drips Experience with wound care and post-op monitoring Ability to provide cardiac monitoring and telemetry interpretation Effective care coordination with an interdisciplinary team Experience in discharge planning and patient education Description: We are seeking a Registered Nurse specializing in MedSurg/Tele. The facility has 637 licensed beds and is a Level 1 Trauma center. It is a teaching hospital with a dedicated Chest Pain Center and Stroke Center. The unit has 30 beds with an average census of 30 patients. Patient types include post/pre-cardiac patients and step-down ICU patients. Common diagnoses consist of CHF, COPD, STEMI, NSTEMI, and sepsis. The nurse-patient ratio is 1:4-6. Certified Nursing Assistants are available to assist with vital signs, glucose checks, and patient care. The unit has a reception area staffed from 7 AM to 11 PM. A charge nurse is present on each unit. Patients require proactive care and support from trained staff. Telemetry monitoring is managed by a central telemetry unit. Experience working with EMR is required. The facility utilizes advanced medical equipment and technology. The team environment is busy, yet supportive, emphasizing collaboration among staff.
