Candidates will manage an average patient census of 51, with ratios of 1:4-6, increasing to 1:7-8 during surge times. The patient population includes those with chronic diseases, CHF, mental health issues, addiction services, COPD, diabetes, and wound care needs. Skills required include cardiac rhythm interpretation, experience with non-titrating cardiac drips, IV starting, administering blood products, and wound care. Support within the department includes a nurse manager, clinical supervisors, staff RNs, CNAs, and a clinical mentor. Traveling nurses may be required to float to various facilities within the region and will be compensated for travel time between facilities. Scheduling includes a weekend rotation, with travelers expected to work 75% of holidays. Time-off requests can be approved for up to 6 days, excluding holidays. The department culture emphasizes teamwork and accountability. Scrub color is navy blue.
