Job Title: RN - MedSurg/Tele Profession: Registered Nurse Specialty: Medical-Surgical/Telemetry Duration: 13 weeks Shift: 12-hour Night Shift Hours per Shift: 36 Experience: Minimum 18 months Med/Tele experience preferred License: Valid nursing license required Certifications: BLS, ACLS, NIHSS certification required Must-Have: Strong general Med/Tele skillset Description: Seeking an experienced Registered Nurse in MedSurg/Telemetry. The ideal candidate should have a background in managing patients with various medical conditions. Common patient types include stroke, COPD, chest pain, altered mental status, and GI bleed. Patient ratios are typically 1:5-6, with the potential to increase to 1:7-8 during surge staffing. Support within the department includes Certified Nursing Assistants who assist with patient care tasks. Charge nurses may or may not have a patient assignment. Phlebotomy services are available 24/7. Telemetry monitoring is provided continuously. General Med/Tele skillset required includes stroke experience, cardiac rhythm interpretation, and medication management. Candidates should be comfortable with tasks such as trach care, PIV starts, and drain/tube management. Floating between facilities may be required, contingent upon regional needs. Scheduled shifts consist of rotating weekends, with expectations to work a majority of holidays. A total of 6 days off may be approved, excluding holidays.
