Job Title: Registered Nurse Profession: Nursing Specialty: MS/Tele Duration: 13 weeks Shift: Day Hours per Shift: 12 hours (07:00 - 19:30) Experience: 1 year of experience License: Active state or multistate nursing license required Certifications: ACLS, BLS, NIHSS Must-Have: 1 year of EPIC experience required Ability to start IVs, access ports, and manage PICC & central lines Experience with telemetry and dysrhythmia interpretation Description: Position entails responsibilities in MS/Tele (Neuro & Stroke) nursing. Core duties involve caring for patients with embolic and hemorrhagic strokes, seizures, and neurosurgical cases. Nurses will follow guidelines for stroke care and comprehensive stroke center designation. The patient ratio is typically 1:4-5. Agency staff may be required to float to other units or campuses as needed, limited to areas with documented competencies. Must have certifications in ACLS, BLS, and NIHSS. Responsibilities include managing telemetry, performing rapid response team duties, and caring for patients pre/post neurosurgery. Ideal candidates will have experience with blood product administration, PCA and heparin protocols, and tracheostomy care. Strong adherence to isolation precautions and surgical drain management is required. Team members will collaborate with interdisciplinary support services including therapy and pharmacy. Nursing staff must have excellent communication skills and be able to interpret telemetry data effectively. Attendance at required training and compliance modules is essential. Candidates are expected to demonstrate ongoing clinical competency and engage in professional development activities. Participation in quality improvement initiatives and compliance with safety protocols is mandatory.
