Job Title: Registered Nurse Profession: Nursing Specialty: Medical-Surgical/Telemetry Duration: 13 weeks Shift: Day shift Hours per Shift: 12 hours (07:00 - 19:30) Experience: Minimum of 2 years required License: Active SC license or Compact license required prior to start Certifications: BLS and ACLS required; NIHSS preferred Must-Have: Tele competency required Previous charge experience preferred Community hospital experience preferred Description: This position involves providing nursing care in a Medical-Surgical/Telemetry unit. The nurse will work day shifts, three times a week. Ratios will be 1:5-6 patients. Every other weekend commitment is required. Floating between units may be necessary to meet facility needs. Candidates must have at least 2 years of nursing experience. First-timers are accepted for this role. All candidates should have the required licenses and certifications before beginning. The facility will provide care for adults and geriatric patients. Patients may present with diagnoses such as diabetes, hypertension, coronary artery disease, seizures, and strokes. Interdisciplinary support will be available from various services including physical therapy and respiratory services. Candidates must be able to manage specific nursing tasks, such as cardiac telemetry and IV management. In addition, adherence to isolation precautions and the ability to manage dysrhythmias are necessary skills for this role. Candidates should also be prepared for potential assignments during emergency response situations, especially during hurricane season.
