Description:
We are seeking a dedicated Registered Nurse specializing in Medical-Surgical / Orthopedics.
This position requires a commitment to providing high-quality patient care.
The unit has a total of 22 beds with an average daily census of 6 patients.
Nurse to patient ratios are 1:5-6.
Common diagnoses include total knee replacements, total hip replacements, ankle replacements, total shoulder surgeries, and spinal procedures.
RNs are not required to titrate IV drips.
The unit is supported by nursing aides/patient care technicians at a ratio of 1:13.
Charge nurses are present on each shift and take an assignment.
Telemonitoring is provided, and tele techs will read and interpret strips.
Shifts are self-scheduled with a cyclic rotation.
Weekends are required every other week, and holiday shifts will rotate with permanent staff.
RNs may float to other departments with Med-Surg acuity as needed.
The ideal candidate is team-oriented, flexible, and eager to learn.
Attributes that contribute to success in this role include taking ownership within the department and collaborative spirit.
A 50-mile radius rule applies to candidates.
All candidates should adhere to facility policies regarding personal grooming standards.
Each nurse is responsible for providing comprehensive patient care.
Additional time off requests need to be submitted upfront.
The hospital reserves the right to cancel up to 4 shifts during the assignment.
Experience with EPIC charting system is preferred.
