Job Title: RN - Orthopedic Surgery Profession: Registered Nurse Specialty: Orthopedic Surgery Duration: 13 weeks Shift: Day Shift Hours per Shift: 12 Experience: Minimum 2 years in an acute care hospital as an Orthopedic RN License: Active RN License Certifications: BLS preferred, ACLS preferred Description: Travel position for RN in orthopedic surgery. Unit Information: 30 Beds available. Staffing includes 1 Charge Nurse, 4-6 bedside RNs, and 2-4 PCTs. Patient Ratios are 1:5 or 1:6. Equipment used includes continuous passive motion machines for specialty surgeries, nerve block pumps, On-Q balls, and electronic medical records system. Most recruited for are Travel RNs, local CNAs, and sitters. Candidates without the required skills will not be considered for the role. Must have a minimum of 1 year of experience as an orthopedic RN in an acute care setting. Preferred candidates will have Med/Surg experience. Experience with Meditech is also preferred. Typical procedures performed on the unit include IV starts, Foley/Straight catheterization, CPM application, and early mobilization. The best personality fit is a positive attitude and being a team player. The unit prides itself on great teamwork. Dedicated nursing staff drive great patient experience and quality outcomes. The patient population includes diverse elective orthopedic patients and orthopedic trauma patients.
