Job Summary

We are seeking an experienced Medical/Surgical Registered Nurse (RN) to join a fast-paced 28-bed Respiratory Medical/Surgical Unit specializing in the care of patients with respiratory illnesses, tracheostomies, and chronic ventilator support. The ideal candidate will have strong Med/Surg experience, excellent assessment skills, and be comfortable caring for high-acuity respiratory patients in a collaborative team environment.

This is an interview-required position with an immediate start for qualified candidates.
 

Responsibilities

  • Deliver comprehensive nursing care to adult Medical/Surgical patients.
  • Provide specialized care for patients with respiratory disorders, tracheostomies, and chronic ventilators.
  • Perform patient assessments, administer medications, and monitor treatment plans.
  • Draw blood and perform routine phlebotomy procedures.
  • Accurately document patient care using Epic EMR.
  • Collaborate with physicians and interdisciplinary healthcare teams.
  • Respond effectively in a fast-paced clinical environment while maintaining patient safety.
  • Float to other units as required based on staffing needs.
  • Maintain compliance with hospital policies and nursing standards.

Required Qualifications

  • Active RN License (State license or compact license, as applicable).
  • Graduate of an ACEN or CCNE accredited Nursing Program.
  • Minimum 2 years of recent Medical/Surgical RN experience.
  • Recent experience caring for tracheostomy and chronic ventilator patients.
  • Minimum 2 years of recent phlebotomy (blood draw) experience.
  • Recent Epic EMR experience within the last 12 months.
  • Current BLS Certification (AHA).
  • Ability to work in patient ratios of 1:5–6.
  • Comfortable working in a high-volume, fast-paced hospital setting.

Preferred Qualifications

  • LTACH (Long-Term Acute Care Hospital) experience.
  • Strong respiratory patient care background.
  • Excellent communication and teamwork skills.

Schedule Requirements

  • Night Shift: 7:00 PM – 7:30 AM
  • Must work every other weekend.
  • Floating is required.
  • No block scheduling requests accepted.

Submission Requirements

  • Resume must clearly demonstrate:
    • Recent Epic EMR experience (within the last 12 months).
    • Recent phlebotomy/blood draw experience (within the last 12 months).
  • Interview is mandatory before offer.
  • Please provide candidate availability for interviews at the time of submission.
  • Maximum of 7 days RTO permitted.
  • No RTO allowed during the first two weeks of the assignment.
  • Candidates requesting more than 7 days of RTO or block scheduling will not be considered.
