Job Summary:
The Medical Surgical Registered Nurse is based on the medical-surgical floor at a healthcare facility in Hermiston, Oregon. This role involves providing direct patient care to adult patients before and after surgical procedures, assessing patient conditions, administering medications, monitoring vital signs, and collaborating with interdisciplinary teams to ensure optimal patient outcomes. The position supports the facilitys mission and values while emphasizing compassionate and effective nursing care.
Job Details:
- Schedule: Nights shift, 12 hours per shift, minimum of 36 hours per week
- Required Qualifications: Valid Registered Nurse (RN) license in Oregon; Basic Life Support (BLS), Pediatric Advanced Life Support (PALS), and Advanced Cardiovascular Life Support (ACLS) certifications; Evidence of continuing education appropriate for skill level and practice area; Bachelor of Science in Nursing (BSN) or Master of Science in Nursing (MSN) preferred.
- Preferred Qualifications: Certified Medical-Surgical Registered Nurse (CMSRN); previous Medical-Surgical nursing experience; CRASE training (if extension beyond 6 months).
- Additional Information:
- Performs a variety of nursing duties across departments with appropriate supervision.
- Recognizes patient confidentiality rights and responsibilities.
- Communicates effectively with individuals from diverse socioeconomic backgrounds.
- Supports guest relations and incorporates empathy, teamwork, and cooperation into daily activities.
- Provides care tailored to age-specific, cultural, physical, and psychosocial needs.
- Floats to other qualified departments as needed.
- Participates in required education for DNV programs as applicable.
- Performs other related duties as assigned.
