Job Summary:
Medical Surgical Floor Registered Nurse (RN) in Wausau, Wisconsin. This position involves providing patient care in a fast-paced post-surgical unit, supporting adult and geriatric patients pre- and post-operatively. The role requires flexibility, teamwork, and the ability to adapt to a high-volume surgical environment.
Job Details:
- Shift: 12-hour days, from 7:00 AM to 7:00 PM
- Schedule: Days only
- Required Qualifications: WI RN License, BLS from AHA or ARC, 2+ years of Medical Surgical experience with recent hospital experience, Trauma Level II experience, Epic charting experience.
- Preferred Qualifications: Bachelor's Degree
- Experience: 0+ years (minimum experience not specified beyond 2+ years)
- Float: Float to all inpatient units may be required
- Additional Information:
- Contract length: 13 weeks with possible extension
- Guaranteed 36 hours per week, with flexibility during low census periods in 4 or 8-hour increments
- On-call/Call back: Not required
- Unit overview: 40-bed inpatient unit, patient ratio of 1:4 or 1:5 daytime, 1:5 to 1:7 overnight, with 10-15 admissions per day and an occupancy rate of 90-95% during the week
- Equipment used: Epic Electronic Medical Record (EMR), Rovers for medication scanning, Alaris pumps
- Scrub color: Any color
- Holidays: Every other holiday rotation
- Work during flu season: Mandatory mask-wearing if declining flu and COVID vaccinations
