Job Overview

We are seeking an experienced Director of Nursing (DON) for a 9-week contract assignment in Exeter, New Hampshire. This leadership role is responsible for overseeing all nursing operations within a skilled nursing facility, ensuring high-quality resident care, regulatory compliance, and effective clinical leadership.

The Director of Nursing will provide strategic oversight of nursing staff, drive quality improvement initiatives, manage staffing and clinical workflows, and collaborate with interdisciplinary leadership teams to maintain safe and effective care delivery.


Key Responsibilities

Oversee all nursing operations and clinical services
Ensure compliance with federal, state, and facility regulations
Lead, supervise, and support nursing leadership and clinical staff
Develop and implement quality improvement and patient safety initiatives
Manage staffing, scheduling, and workforce planning
Monitor clinical outcomes and drive performance improvements
Collaborate with administrators and interdisciplinary teams
Ensure adherence to policies, procedures, and regulatory standards
Support staff development, training, and retention initiatives


Requirements

Active Registered Nurse (RN) license required
Extensive leadership experience in skilled nursing or long-term care required
Prior Director of Nursing or senior nursing leadership experience strongly preferred
Strong knowledge of regulatory compliance and clinical operations
Excellent leadership, communication, and organizational skills
BLS certification preferred or required by facility standards
Ability to manage high-level clinical and operational responsibilities
