Registered Nurse – Labor and Delivery

Schedule / Job TypeContract | Full-Time | Onsite | Nights (7:00 PM – 7:30 AM) | 3x12-hour shifts | 36 hours per week
Key Responsibilities- Coordinate and provide high-quality, compassionate patient care utilizing the nursing process and unit-specific standards of practice
- Develop, implement, and continually reassess individualized patient plans of care, including physical, psychological, social, and rehabilitative needs
- Administer medications and complete nursing procedures and treatments while accurately documenting care, assessments, interventions, and patient responses
- Perform holistic ongoing patient assessments and evaluate discharge plans for appropriateness, educational needs, and necessary changes
- Educate patients, families, and significant others on relevant health information in a timely manner
- Communicate and collaborate with all members of the healthcare team while maintaining a clean and safe environment; may float as a sitter or in rotation and will take call if census is low
Required Qualifications- Active Washington State RN licensure or Compact RN licensure
- Active BLS certification required
- Active NRP (Neonatal Resuscitation Program) certification required
- Active FHM (Fetal Heart Monitoring) certification required
- Ability to function consistently within the guidelines of the Washington Nurse Practice Act and unit-specific standards of practice
Preferred Experience / Skills- Prior experience in Labor and Delivery nursing
- Familiarity with evidence-based Labor and Delivery workflows and procedures
- Experience delegating to and overseeing non-licensed assistive personnel
