Registered Nurse – Labor and Delivery

Schedule / Job TypeContract | Nights (3x12 Hours, 7:00 PM – 7:00 AM) | Onsite | Some weekend shifts required
Key Responsibilities- Provide direct nursing care to high-risk labor and delivery patients, including those with pre-eclampsia, diabetes, and multiple gestations
- Support and manage patients undergoing induction, augmentation, VBAC/TOLAC, and active labor
- Respond to and manage maternal emergencies in an acute care setting
- Care for antepartum patients with varying acuity levels, maintaining appropriate patient ratios (Labor 1:2, Antepartum 1:3)
- Float between units as needed within the facility
- Document patient care accurately using Epic electronic health records
Required Qualifications- Active Registered Nurse (RN) license; compact license must be in hand at time of submission
- Minimum of 1 year of Labor and Delivery experience in an acute care setting
- Experience with high-risk obstetric conditions including pre-eclampsia, antepartum care, and maternal emergencies
- Proficiency with Epic charting system
- Ability to commit to working 3 of 5 designated holidays (Thanksgiving, Christmas Eve, Christmas Day, New Year's Eve, New Year's Day)
- Must reside outside a 50-mile radius of the facility to qualify as a traveler
Preferred Experience / Skills- Experience in a Level II Trauma Center or large acute care hospital setting
- Familiarity with VBAC/TOLAC protocols and active management of complex laboring patients
- Background working in a teaching hospital environment
