Registered Nurse – Labor and Delivery

Key Responsibilities
  • Provide direct patient care in a high-volume birthing center environment, including labor, delivery, recovery, and postpartum (LDRP) settings
  • Attend deliveries independently and circulate in cesarean section procedures, including assisting with catching and transitioning newborns
  • Titrate drips including Magnesium, Pitocin, and Insulin per established protocols
  • Monitor and manage high-risk patient populations including preeclampsia, diabetic, and other complex diagnoses at 33 weeks gestation and above
  • Function in postpartum care as needed, performing routine mother and baby competencies and attending low-risk deliveries
  • Adhere to AWHONN staffing ratio guidelines (1:2 L&D; 1:3–4 couplets) and collaborate with an interdisciplinary team including in-house OB/hospitalist, NNP, and anesthesia providers
Required Qualifications
  • Active RN license with a minimum of 2 years of LDRP experience (candidates with 1 year of experience may be considered with documented prior travel nursing experience)
  • Prior travel nursing experience required — first-time travelers will not be considered
  • Current BLS, ACLS, and NRP certifications required
  • Proficiency with EFM systems (unit uses Centricity Perinatal)
  • Ability to independently attend deliveries and circulate in C-section procedures
  • Comfort with titrating drips and managing high-risk obstetric patients
Preferred Experience / Skills
  • Intermediate or advanced Fetal Heart Monitoring (FHM) certification preferred
  • Experience with EPIC electronic health records
  • Familiarity with block scheduling and adaptability to unit-specific workflows, policies, and procedures
