Registered Nurse (RN) – Labor and Delivery

Schedule / Job TypeContract | Night Shift | Onsite | 12-Hour Shifts | Every Other Weekend Required (Friday & Saturday nights) | Rotating Holidays
Key Responsibilities- Provide direct patient care in a high-volume birthing center managing Labor & Delivery, Triage, and Postpartum patients, including high-risk cases such as preeclampsia, gestational diabetes, and substance use
- Attend and support deliveries independently and circulate in cesarean section procedures
- Assist with catching and transitioning newborns, including attending low-risk deliveries and performing routine mother-baby couplet care
- Titrate drips including Magnesium, Pitocin, and Insulin per established protocols
- Operate and interpret electronic fetal monitoring using the Centricity Perinatal EFM system
- Function across Labor & Delivery and Postpartum as needed, demonstrating competency in routine mother-baby care and newborn transition
Required Qualifications- Active RN license with LDRP experience required
- Minimum 2 years of Labor & Delivery experience; candidates with 1 year of experience may be considered with documented prior travel nursing experience
- Current BLS, ACLS, and NRP certifications required
- Must be comfortable attending deliveries independently and circulating in C-sections
- Must be comfortable assisting with newborn delivery, transition, and stabilization
- Prior travel nursing experience required; first-time travelers will not be considered
Preferred Experience / Skills- Intermediate or Advanced Fetal Heart Monitoring (FHM) certification preferred
- Experience with high-risk OB populations including preeclampsia, insulin-dependent diabetes, and psychosocial complexities
- Familiarity with AWHONN staffing guidelines and block scheduling environments
