Registered Nurse (RN) – Labor and Delivery

Contract | Night Shift | Onsite | 12-Hour Shifts | Every Other Weekend Required (Friday & Saturday nights) | Rotating Holidays

Key Responsibilities
  • Provide direct patient care in a high-volume birthing center managing Labor & Delivery, Triage, and Postpartum patients, including high-risk cases such as preeclampsia, gestational diabetes, and substance use
  • Attend and support deliveries independently and circulate in cesarean section procedures
  • Assist with catching and transitioning newborns, including attending low-risk deliveries and performing routine mother-baby couplet care
  • Titrate drips including Magnesium, Pitocin, and Insulin per established protocols
  • Operate and interpret electronic fetal monitoring using the Centricity Perinatal EFM system
  • Function across Labor & Delivery and Postpartum as needed, demonstrating competency in routine mother-baby care and newborn transition
Required Qualifications
  • Active RN license with LDRP experience required
  • Minimum 2 years of Labor & Delivery experience; candidates with 1 year of experience may be considered with documented prior travel nursing experience
  • Current BLS, ACLS, and NRP certifications required
  • Must be comfortable attending deliveries independently and circulating in C-sections
  • Must be comfortable assisting with newborn delivery, transition, and stabilization
  • Prior travel nursing experience required; first-time travelers will not be considered
Preferred Experience / Skills
  • Intermediate or Advanced Fetal Heart Monitoring (FHM) certification preferred
  • Experience with high-risk OB populations including preeclampsia, insulin-dependent diabetes, and psychosocial complexities
  • Familiarity with AWHONN staffing guidelines and block scheduling environments
