Job Overview

We are seeking an experienced Nurse Manager for a Labor and Delivery department in Seattle, Washington. This leadership role is responsible for overseeing clinical operations, patient care delivery, staff leadership, and quality improvement initiatives within a high-volume Women & Children s Services environment.

The Nurse Manager will collaborate closely with interdisciplinary leadership teams to support operational excellence, patient safety, staff engagement, and evidence-based maternal care practices. This role is ideal for a strong nursing leader with recent Labor & Delivery experience and a passion for team development and patient-centered care.

Key Responsibilities

Oversee daily clinical and operational management of the Labor & Delivery department
Ensure high-quality patient care delivery across all assigned units
Lead staffing coordination, scheduling, and workforce management initiatives
Support quality improvement programs and evidence-based nursing practices
Collaborate with physicians, educators, clinical specialists, and leadership teams
Monitor patient satisfaction, safety outcomes, and department performance metrics
Assist with recruitment, onboarding, retention, and development of nursing staff
Provide coaching, mentorship, and leadership support to clinical teams
Ensure compliance with hospital policies, accreditation standards, and regulatory requirements
Support Diversity, Equity, and Inclusion (DEI) initiatives within the department
Participate in patient care activities to maintain clinical competency
Handle employee relations concerns and support conflict resolution processes

Requirements

Bachelor of Science in Nursing (BSN) required or ADN with commitment to obtain BSN within two years of hire
Active Washington Registered Nurse (RN) license required upon hire
Current BLS certification through the American Heart Association required
Minimum 3 years of recent Labor & Delivery nursing experience required
Minimum 2 years of charge nurse, supervisory, or management experience in Labor & Delivery required
Strong leadership, communication, and team collaboration skills
Experience supporting quality improvement and patient safety initiatives preferred
Master s degree in Nursing or related field preferred
Experience in high-volume Labor & Delivery settings preferred
Commitment to evidence-based practice and patient-centered care
