Key Responsibilities- Independently assess and monitor patients through labor, delivery, recovery, and postpartum phases, identifying and addressing health care needs throughout the episode of care
- Collaborate with patients, families, physicians, and the broader healthcare team to develop and implement individualized care plans with measurable short- and long-term goals
- Provide education to mothers on breastfeeding, infant care, and postpartum wellness; document all care and education in the electronic medical record
- Communicate patient status verbally and in writing to physicians and nursing supervisors; assist with physician procedures as needed
- Collaborate with nursery nursing staff in the care of the mother/baby couplet and support staff in skill development and new procedures
- Maintain a clean, safe, and orderly environment within the Family Birthing Center unit and assist with emergencies in other nursing units when able
Required Qualifications- Current, active Registered Nurse (RN) license in the State of Colorado
- Minimum of an Associate's Degree (ADN) from an accredited nursing program
- Minimum of two (2) years of RN experience required
- Current BLS certification required
- Current NRP (Neonatal Resuscitation Program) certification required
Preferred Experience / Skills- PALS (Pediatric Advanced Life Support) certification preferred
- Prior experience in an LDRP or Family Birthing Center setting
