Registered Nurse (RN) – Labor and Delivery

Contract | Night Shift | 12-Hour Shifts | Onsite

Key Responsibilities
  • Provide direct nursing care to Labor and Delivery patients in a Level II maternity unit (down to 32 weeks gestational age) across 16 LDRP rooms, 2 OB ORs, and 6 triage rooms
  • Perform and interpret Electronic Fetal Monitoring (EFM) tracings using the Fetalink system
  • Initiate and manage IV access, perform sterile Foley catheter insertions, and complete central line dressing changes
  • Administer and titrate drips including Pitocin and manage Magnesium Sulfate therapy
  • Conduct sterile vaginal exams (SVEs) and respond to obstetric emergencies in coordination with on-call OB and Neonatology providers
  • Adhere to AWHONN staffing guidelines; participate in on-call requirements (18 hours per 4-week schedule) and rotating weekend and holiday coverage
Required Qualifications
  • Active RN license with current Labor and Delivery experience
  • Current BLS certification
  • Current Electronic Fetal Monitoring (EFM) certification
  • Demonstrated ability to interpret EFM tracings, perform SVEs, and manage titratable obstetric drips
  • Must pass a skills assessment on sterile Foley catheter insertion and central line dressing changes on the first day of orientation
  • Proficiency with Cerner PowerChart Maternity EHR
Preferred Experience / Skills
  • AWHONN EFM certification preferred
  • Experience in a Level II or higher maternity unit with exposure to high-acuity obstetric diagnoses
  • Familiarity with CPAP initiation and respiratory support protocols in an OB setting
