Key Responsibilities- Provide direct patient care to a designated group of patients within the Maternal Child Health department, addressing physical, psychological, emotional, educational, and spiritual needs.
- Assess patients and families with needs ranging from uncomplicated to highly complex, recognizing normal parameters and deviations in physical, emotional, developmental, and behavioral status using a person-centered care approach.
- Develop and prioritize individualized care plans, involving patients and families in establishing care goals and addressing both expected and unanticipated needs.
- Apply critical thinking skills to make appropriate clinical decisions, proactively address potential and actual problems, and prioritize planned and unplanned events.
- Demonstrate competence in technical nursing skills required for Maternal Child Health patient care, serving as a resource to peers and remaining current on applicable policies, procedures, and standards.
- Facilitate collaboration across the healthcare team, linking patients and families with other disciplines and services as needed.
Required Qualifications- Active Registered Nurse (RN) license in good standing.
- Demonstrated Labor and Delivery clinical experience.
- Knowledge of and adherence to Maternal Child Health governing body standards (AWHONN, ACOG, NNA, AORN).
- Strong critical thinking and clinical decision-making skills in a fast-paced maternal care environment.
Preferred Experience / Skills- Postpartum nursing experience.
- Experience collaborating with multidisciplinary healthcare teams in a Maternal Child Health setting.
