Key Responsibilities- Assess patient physical, psychological, social, cultural, and spiritual needs across all age groups and develop, implement, revise, and evaluate formal plans of care.
- Report and document observed symptoms, reactions, and changes in patient condition in a timely and accurate manner.
- Administer medications in accordance with the Five Rights of Medication Administration.
- Provide patient and family education appropriate to age and learning abilities; maintain a safe and comfortable care environment.
- Organize and prioritize daily assignments to ensure optimal patient care delivery.
- When serving in a Charge Nurse capacity, assign staff according to patient needs and skill levels, coach staff on problem-solving and decision-making, and respond immediately to life-threatening patient situations.
Required Qualifications- Labor and Delivery experience is required.
- Bachelor of Science in Nursing (BSN), Associate Degree in Nursing (ADN), or Diploma from an accredited nursing program.
- Active Registered Nurse license in the state of Nebraska.
- Current BLS certification.
- Current ACLS certification.
- Current NRP certification (required for RNs assigned to the Obstetrics Department).
Preferred Experience / Skills- Experience functioning in a Charge Nurse capacity, including staff assignment, performance improvement, and interdepartmental collaboration.
- Demonstrated annual competency in assigned clinical areas.
