Registered Nurse (RN) – Labor and Delivery
LocationGrand Island, NE
Schedule / Job TypeContract | Night Shift | 12-Hour Shifts (6:00 PM – 7:00 AM) | Onsite | Every Other Weekend Required
Key Responsibilities- Provide direct patient care in an LDRP setting, including labor, delivery, recovery, and postpartum patients
- Care for antepartum, postpartum, post-surgical GYN, and obstetric patients with comorbidities such as hypertension and diabetes
- Titrate drips including Pitocin, Magnesium, and Procardia per provider orders
- Adhere to AWHONN staffing ratio guidelines (1:3 general; 1:1 for actively laboring patients)
- Participate in unit orientation including classroom training and supervised floor shifts
- Support breastfeeding-friendly care practices and maintain high patient experience standards
Required Qualifications- Active RN license in good standing
- Minimum 3 years of Labor and Delivery experience
- Current BLS certification
- Current NRP (Neonatal Resuscitation Program) certification
- Ability to pass a unit-specific open-book skills exam with a score of 90% or higher during orientation
- Compliance with facility fingernail policy — artificial nails are prohibited in all patient care areas
Preferred Experience / Skills- Experience titrating obstetric drips in a high-acuity labor and delivery environment
- Familiarity with AWHONN guidelines and evidence-based obstetric care practices
- Experience in a unit with comparable birth volume and LDRP bed capacity
