Registered Nurse – Labor and Delivery

Schedule / Job Type

Contract | Night Shift | 12-Hour Shifts (7:00 AM, 11:00 AM, and 7:00 PM start times available) | Onsite

Key Responsibilities
  • Provide direct patient care in a Labor and Delivery unit managing approximately 130 births per month, including high-risk antepartum and hypertensive patients delivering as early as 23 weeks gestation
  • Maintain nurse-to-patient ratios of 1:1 close to delivery and 1:2 otherwise, with 1:4 couplet ratios on postpartum as needed
  • Perform C-section scrub, circulator, and recovery roles within the L&D operating rooms
  • Utilize Obix fetal monitoring system and Cerner EMR for patient documentation and fetal surveillance
  • Collaborate with perinatology support staff and coordinate transfers for patients with known cardiac abnormalities or conditions beyond unit scope
  • Fulfill weekend requirements of 4 shifts per 4-week period and holiday obligations including one major and one minor holiday
Required Qualifications
  • Active RN licensure
  • Minimum 2 years of Labor and Delivery experience
  • C-section experience required, including scrub, circulator, and recovery roles
  • Current BLS, NRP, ACLS, and Advanced AWHONN certifications
  • Proficiency with Cerner EMR and Obix fetal monitoring
Preferred Experience / Skills
  • Prior travel nursing experience preferred
  • Experience with high-risk obstetric patients including antepartum and hypertensive diagnoses
  • NICU feeder/grower background beneficial for potential float opportunities
