Registered Nurse (RN) – Labor & Delivery (Nights)

Schedule / Job Type

Contract | Night Shift | Onsite | Float across multiple campuses required

Key Responsibilities
  • Provide direct nursing care to Labor & Delivery patients including high-risk OB, antepartum, C-section, and vaginal delivery cases
  • Administer and monitor drips including magnesium, insulin, and pitocin
  • Maintain patient ratios of 1:1–2 within a 45-bed unit with 2 OR suites
  • Float across multiple campuses as assigned
  • Participate in holiday coverage as required by unit needs (up to 1–2 of designated summer holidays)
  • Utilize EPIC EMR for all documentation and patient management
Required Qualifications
  • Active Iowa RN license or compact/multistate license at time of submission
  • Current, recent Labor & Delivery experience required; must include antepartum, C-section, and vaginal delivery experience
  • Current or recent high-risk OB experience in a Level II trauma facility
  • Intermediate or Advanced EFM / AWHONN certification (AHA or ARC accepted)
  • Active BLS (AHA or ARC), ACLS (AHA), and NRP certifications required
  • EPIC EMR experience required
  • Must have completed at least one travel assignment within the previous 12 months (no first-time travelers)
Preferred Experience / Skills
  • Experience in postpartum / mother-baby care
  • Current or recent high-risk OB experience in a Level I trauma facility
  • Professional reference from a charge nurse, supervisor, nurse manager, director, CNO, or COO within the past 24 months
