    Registered Nurse – Labor and Delivery

    Location

    Charlottesville, VA

    Schedule / Job Type

    Contract | 13 Weeks | Nights (3x12 Hours, 7:00 PM – 7:00 AM) | 36 Hours per Week

    Key Responsibilities
    • Provide direct patient care in an active Labor and Delivery unit averaging approximately 2,000 deliveries annually, with 8 private labor rooms, 4 private triage beds, and 2 OB operating rooms
    • Care for both low-risk patients, including certified nurse midwife populations, and high-risk patients within a maternal fetal medicine program
    • Cross-train to Mother/Baby unit as expected; may be floated to NICU (feeder/grower level) within scope of practice
    • Perform fetal monitoring and provide comprehensive obstetric nursing care throughout labor, delivery, and immediate postpartum
    • Maintain accurate and timely documentation using Epic electronic health records
    • Adhere to unit float requirements and facility compliance policies throughout the duration of the assignment
    Required Qualifications
    • Current and valid Registered Nurse (RN) license in Virginia (pending license accepted at time of submission; license must be in hand by the Wednesday prior to start date)
    • Basic Life Support (BLS) certification required
    • Neonatal Resuscitation Program (NRP) certification required
    • Fetal Monitoring certification required
    • AWHONN Intermediate Fetal Monitoring certification required
    • Epic electronic health records experience required
    Preferred Experience / Skills
    • Bachelor of Science in Nursing (BSN) preferred
    • Experience working in both low-risk and high-risk Labor and Delivery environments
    • Prior experience or comfort cross-training to Mother/Baby or NICU feeder/grower settings
