Contract | Nights | 3x12-Hour Shifts (18:45–07:15) | Onsite | 13–26 Week Contracts Available

Key Responsibilities
  • Provide intrapartum, high-risk antepartum, and postpartum care for obstetrical patients 16 weeks and greater, as well as high-risk patients under 16 weeks
  • Manage double labor assignments in a high-volume, fast-paced birthing unit averaging approximately 20 births and 30–40 admissions per 24-hour period
  • Perform and assist with sterile vaginal exams, immediate newborn care, and obstetrical triage screening prior to admission
  • Support routine outpatient procedures including antenatal fetal surveillance, intravenous hydration, and medication administration
  • Circulate for scheduled and unscheduled Cesarean births and rescue cervical cerclage procedures
  • Float as needed to a high-risk special maternity care unit; work every other weekend with a minimum of 6 weekend shifts per 6-week schedule
Required Qualifications
  • Active RN license in North Carolina or a Compact state
  • Minimum 2 years of Labor and Delivery experience; 3 years strongly preferred
  • Experience in a high-volume setting with greater than 300 births per month
  • Competency in circulating to the OR, sterile vaginal exams, and immediate newborn care
  • Current BCLS, AWHONN Intermediate Fetal Monitoring, and NRP certifications required
  • Proficiency with EPIC, PYXIS, and SBAR documentation systems
Preferred Experience / Skills
  • Prior experience circulating in an obstetrical OR setting
  • Background in high-acuity or high-risk maternity care environments
  • Previous travel nursing experience in a comparable large, high-volume Labor and Delivery unit
