Key Responsibilities- Provide intrapartum, high-risk antepartum, and postpartum care for obstetrical patients 16 weeks and greater, as well as high-risk patients under 16 weeks
- Manage double labor assignments in a high-volume, fast-paced birthing unit averaging approximately 20 births and 30–40 admissions per 24-hour period
- Perform and assist with sterile vaginal exams, immediate newborn care, and obstetrical triage screening prior to admission
- Support routine outpatient procedures including antenatal fetal surveillance, intravenous hydration, and medication administration
- Circulate for scheduled and unscheduled Cesarean births and rescue cervical cerclage procedures
- Float as needed to a high-risk special maternity care unit; work every other weekend with a minimum of 6 weekend shifts per 6-week schedule
Required Qualifications- Active RN license in North Carolina or a Compact state
- Minimum 2 years of Labor and Delivery experience; 3 years strongly preferred
- Experience in a high-volume setting with greater than 300 births per month
- Competency in circulating to the OR, sterile vaginal exams, and immediate newborn care
- Current BCLS, AWHONN Intermediate Fetal Monitoring, and NRP certifications required
- Proficiency with EPIC, PYXIS, and SBAR documentation systems
Preferred Experience / Skills- Prior experience circulating in an obstetrical OR setting
- Background in high-acuity or high-risk maternity care environments
- Previous travel nursing experience in a comparable large, high-volume Labor and Delivery unit
