Registered Nurse – Labor & Delivery (Contract / Travel)
LocationAustin, Texas
Schedule / Job TypeContract (13 Weeks) | Full-Time | Onsite | Night Shift (7:00 PM – 7:00 AM) | 12-Hour Shifts | No Call Required | 4 Weekend Shifts Per Scheduling Period
Key Responsibilities- Provide direct nursing care to Labor & Delivery patients including high-risk OB cases, maintaining patient ratios of 1:2 or 1:1 based on acuity and transition needs
- Assist with and support procedures including SVDs, C-sections, D&C, D&E, twin deliveries, scheduled and emergent C-hysterectomies, and massive transfusion protocols
- Operate and monitor equipment including Alaris pumps and CADD epidural pumps; document care accurately within CPN and Meditech EMR systems
- Collaborate within a multidisciplinary team including charge nurses, Certified Surgical Techs, schedulers, and physicians across LDR, Antepartum, OBED, and OR settings
- Participate in self-scheduling in coordination with team members across day and night shifts
Required Qualifications- Active Registered Nurse (RN) license
- Minimum 2–3 years of experience in High-Risk OB / Labor & Delivery
- Current ACLS, BLS, and NRP certifications
- Current AWHONN Intermediate Fetal Monitoring (IFM) / Advanced EFM certification
- Current CPI certification
Preferred Experience / Skills- Experience with Placenta Accreta Spectrum Disorders (PASD)
- Experience with massive transfusion protocols in a high-risk OB setting
- Familiarity with a Level III Maternal Designation and/or Level II Neonatal unit environment
