Contract | Nights | 3x12-Hour Shifts (19:00–07:30) | 36 or 48 hour contracts available | Onsite

Key Responsibilities
  • Provide direct patient care in a high-volume Labor and Delivery unit at a Level I Trauma, acute care teaching facility with 554 staffed beds, maintaining a 1:2 nurse-to-patient ratio
  • Perform and assist with specialized procedures including cerclage, external cephalic version, cesarean section, PPTL, AROM, and medically assisted deliveries
  • Utilize electronic and internal fetal monitoring (FHM) and circulate in the L&D setting
  • Manage complex clinical scenarios including meconium deliveries, massive transfusion protocol, malignant hyperthermia, neonatal palliative care, nitrous oxide administration, and C-hysterectomy support
  • Float within scope to antepartum and postpartum units as needed to meet facility demands
  • Fulfill on-call requirements: 12 hours over 4 weeks (4x12 contracts) or 24 hours over 4 weeks (3x12 contracts)
Required Qualifications
  • Active or pending Registered Nurse (RN) license (state license may be pending at time of submission)
  • Minimum 1 year of Labor and Delivery nursing experience; experience in a large L&D unit or facility required
  • Current BLS, ACLS, and NRP certifications (NRP must be in hand at time of submission; RQI certifications are not accepted)
  • Demonstrated experience in postpartum care, newborn nursing, and meconium deliveries
  • Proficiency with circulator duties and fetal heart monitoring (FHM)
  • Charting experience with Cerner EMR
Preferred Experience / Skills
  • 2 or more years of Labor and Delivery experience in a high-acuity or large-volume facility
  • Familiarity with neonatal palliative care, nitrous oxide protocols, and massive transfusion protocol
  • Prior travel nursing experience
