Key Responsibilities
Provide direct patient care in a high-volume Labor and Delivery unit at a Level I Trauma, acute care teaching facility with 554 staffed beds, maintaining a 1:2 nurse-to-patient ratio
Perform and assist with procedures including cerclage, external and internal fetal monitoring, AROM, medically assisted deliveries, C-section, version, PPTL, and C-hyst
Demonstrate proficiency in fetal heart monitoring (FHM) and circulator skills; manage meconium deliveries, neonatal palliative care, and massive transfusion protocol
Float within scope to antepartum and postpartum units as needed to meet facility demands
Fulfill on-call requirements: 12 hours over 4 weeks (4x12 schedule) or 24 hours over 4 weeks (3x12 schedule)
Document patient care accurately using Cerner electronic health records
Required Qualifications
Active RN license (state license may be pending at time of submission)
Minimum 1 year of Labor and Delivery nursing experience; experience in a large L&D unit or facility required
Demonstrated experience in postpartum care, newborn nursing, and meconium deliveries
Current BLS, ACLS, and NRP certifications required (NRP must be in hand at time of submission; RQI certifications not accepted)
Circulator and fetal heart monitoring skills required
Must reside more than 100 miles from the facility (non-local travelers only); non-local driver's license required on file
Preferred Experience / Skills
Experience with nitrous oxide administration, malignant hyperthermia protocol, and neonatal palliative care
Familiarity with Cerner charting platform
Prior travel nursing experience in a comparable high-acuity L&D setting
