Job Title: Labor and Delivery Registered Nurse Profession: Registered Nurse Specialty: Labor and Delivery Duration: 13 Weeks Shift: Night 4x12-Hour Hours per Shift: 12 Experience: Minimum 1 Year License: Active Registered Nurse License Required Certifications: BLS, ACLS, AWHONN Intermediate and Advanced, NRPS Must-Have: - Charge Experience Preferred or Willing to Train as Charge - Available to Work Weekends Every Other Description: Labor and Delivery Nurse needed for a high-risk unit. The average daily deliveries are around 7, with potential for up to 14 patients due to inductions and high-risk antepartum cases. The unit consists of OB Triage Rooms, Labor Delivery Recovery Rooms, Operating Room Suites, and a Post Anesthesia Care Unit. Average OB Triage sees 4-5 third-trimester testing patients along with a constant influx of triage patients each day. Must have active RN license for auto offer. First-time travelers are accepted. No on-call requirements for this position. The traveler may float to similar units as needed. Candidates are required to work during weekends every other weekend. All time off requests will be approved on an individual basis. Guaranteed hours are 60 hours per 2 weeks. Required skills include administration of medications, caring for high-risk deliveries, and postpartum support. Familiarity with electronic medical record systems is essential. Candidates must be willing to work 2 out of 3 major holidays: Thanksgiving, Christmas, and New Year. References covering 1 year of experience within the last 3 years are required. Additional compliance processes will be required prior to start. Travelers can only work for a maximum of 1 calendar year in their assignment. A minimum of 6 months break is required before returning for another assignment. Providing necessary communication devices is the responsibility of the client. Housing options must be researched prior to acceptance, as availability may be limited. Modules are to be completed pre-start and annually, with time spent being self-reported.
