Shift Type: 12-hour nights (exact start/end times not specified) — rotating nights schedule, Every Other Weekend (EOW). Nights typically include Fri/Sat; 2 weekend shifts per 4-week schedule. Guaranteed 36 hours/week. May be placed on-call/standby with a 30-minute callback expectation. First-to-float (may float to other Sacramento facilities).

Roles & Responsibilities
- Provide expert Labor & Delivery and Mother/Baby couplet care following unit protocols and AWHONN guidelines when applicable
- Perform Neonatal Resuscitation (NRP) at delivery and stabilize newborns when needed (no in-house pediatric coverage)
- Manage advanced fetal monitoring (Fetalink/EFM) and interpret tracings using AWHONN Advanced EFM principles
- Titrate drips safely (e.g., Pitocin; occasional insulin) and manage set-rate infusions per orders
- Circulate in the OR during C-sections when assigned and collaborate with anesthesia and surgical teams
- Collaborate with RT during deliveries to provide respiratory support (ventilator, CPAP, bubble CPAP) as indicated
- Participate in NST/antepartum testing and coordinate care with perinatal specialists and neonatology
- Document thoroughly in Cerner and communicate effectively with multidisciplinary team members
- Step into charge/shift manager duties when required and support safe staffing and patient flow
Education
- Active RN license in California required
- Associate or diploma in nursing acceptable; BSN not required (BSN optional/preferred)
Knowledge & Skills
- Labor & Delivery (LDRP) workflows and mother/baby couplet care
- Neonatal Resuscitation Program (NRP) skills at delivery
- Advanced fetal monitoring interpretation (AWHONN Advanced EFM) and Fetalink experience
- Ability to titrate drips (Pitocin, occasional insulin) safely
- Cerner electronic charting proficiency
- OR circulating for C-sections and perioperative collaboration
- NICU stabilization basics and collaboration with neonatology/RT
- Teamwork with OB, anesthesia (on-call), RT, and perinatal specialists
