Job Title: Registered Nurse Profession: Nursing Specialty: Labor and Delivery Duration: 13 Weeks Shift: Day Hours per Shift: 12 Experience: Minimum of 2 years of Labor and Delivery experience preferred. License: CA RN Licensure Certifications: BLS, ACLS, AWHONN Intermediate Fetal Monitoring, NRP Certification Must-Have: Experience with charting systems, specifically Epic. Description: Follows clearly defined procedures to provide support to Obstetricians, surgical scrub techs, registered nurses, and Charge Nurses for the execution of care and procedures performed in the labor and delivery setting. Integrates education, technical competence, and patient interaction skills to execute safe and precise treatment under the supervision of a Charge Nurse. Gains confidence and cooperation from patients, their families/support groups, and other healthcare providers through competent patient assessment, attentive monitoring, and effective communication. Adheres to all local, state, and federal regulations, codes, policies, and procedures to ensure privacy and safety to help deliver optimal patient care. May be responsible for mentoring and training students. Experience with administration of blood and blood products, antepartum care, and high-risk deliveries is preferred. Skilled in various obstetric and newborn care procedures, including Cesarean section assistance, postpartum hemorrhage management, and newborn assessment. Ability to effectively communicate and educate patients and families on care and treatment plans. Must have experience working in an interdisciplinary team environment.
