Charge experience preferred or willing to train as charge. First timers accepted. Description: The Labor and Delivery Registered Nurse will provide care for patients in labor and delivery. The nurse will assist in high-risk deliveries and manage both antepartum and postpartum care. Responsibilities include performing assessments, administering medications, and providing patient education. This unit handles high-risk pregnancies and manages a fluctuating patient census. The registered nurse will collaborate with interdisciplinary teams to ensure optimal patient outcomes. On-call shifts are not required, but the nurse must be available to work weekends. The average daily deliveries are around seven, with the potential for higher census during peak times. The position requires a commitment to patient-centered care and adherence to safety protocols. Candidates must be willing to float to similar units as needed to meet facility needs. All time off requests will be considered on an individual basis upon offer acceptance. The registered nurse will be responsible for performing specific skills related to labor and delivery, including but not limited to: - Assisting with vaginal deliveries and cesarean sections. - Managing epidural anesthesia and postpartum hemorrhage. - Providing lactation support and education to new parents. - Monitoring fetal heart rates and recognizing abnormal patterns. Candidates will be part of a supportive team within a high-volume labor and delivery setting focused on quality care and patient safety. The nurse will utilize advanced charting systems to document patient care efficiently.
