Job Title: LDRP Registered Nurse Profession: Registered Nurse Specialty: Labor and Delivery Duration: 13 weeks Shift: 12-Hour Nights Hours per Shift: 12 Experience: Minimum of 2 years License: Required Certifications: BLS, ACLS, NRP Must-Have: - 2 years of experience in Labor and Delivery - Ability to titrate drips - Knowledge of neonatal respiratory equipment - Strong communication skills - Ability to work independently and as part of a team Description: This position involves providing care in a Labor and Delivery setting. The nurse will care for patients who are greater than 35 weeks in labor and manage mom/baby couplets. Nurses will follow established guidelines for patient ratios, with labor requiring a 1:1 to 1:2 ratio and postpartum requiring a 1:2 to 1:3 ratio. Common diagnoses include high-risk pregnancies and deliveries. All nurses must be familiar with the use of titratable drips, including Magnesium, Oxytocin, and postpartum medications. Each shift will have a Charge Nurse responsible for management, who will also take on patient assignments. The nurse will be responsible for troubleshooting equipment such as neonatal vents, CPAP, BiPAP, and high flow systems. The unit will utilize an electronic fetal monitoring system. Block scheduling is practiced, with weekend requirements of every third weekend and holiday availability as needed. Floating to other departments may be required for support during busy times. Attention to teamwork, provider consistency, and effective communication are essential for success in this position. Please be aware that the facility has limited resources and is located in a rural area. Candidates with facial hair must meet fit testing requirements. RTO must be provided upfront, with limited time-off approved during the assignment.
