Job Title: Registered Nurse - Labor & Delivery Profession: Registered Nurse Specialty: Labor and Delivery Unit Duration: 13 Weeks Shift: 7P - 7A Hours per Shift: 12 Experience: Minimum of 2 years in Labor and Delivery required. License: RN License required. Certifications: BLS, ACLS, NRP, Intermediate or Advanced FHM, MOABCST. Must-Have: Completed at least one assignment at a comparably sized and acuity facility. Description: ASAP start is mandatory. Simplifi Interviews. General information provided regarding facility operations and environment. Patient safety is a priority. The unit averages 1,800 deliveries per year. Typically, there are four scheduled events daily, including C-sections and versions. The unit includes various rooms for labor, delivery, and postpartum care. Staffing includes a mix of RNs, OB Techs, and support staff available 24/7. Common patient conditions include PIH, GDM, Pre-Eclampsia, Eclampsia, and multiple births. Nurses will monitor and care for newborns if the mother requires continuous surveillance. Patient ratios vary based on the phase of labor and postpartum care. Required skills include managing medications and providing neonatal care. Charge experience is beneficial and should be included in offers. Support technologies such as EMR, fetal monitoring are in place. Nurses may float to Mother-Baby units but primarily serve in Labor and Delivery. Weekend and holiday rotations are expected as part of the schedule.
