Description:
This position involves working in a Labor and Delivery and Postpartum Unit.
The role requires rotating shifts, primarily during the day, with implementation of evening and night shifts as necessary.
The unit is equipped with 25 beds and includes areas for labor and delivery, postpartum, newborn care, operating rooms, recovery rooms, and antepartum rooms.
The clinician to patient ratio in Labor and Delivery is 1:2 to 1:3 for evaluations and 1:1 for active labor, magnesium administration, or epidural care.
The postpartum ratio is 1:3 to 1:4.
The average daily census is between 15 and 25 mothers, babies, and labors.
Charting is done using the EPIC electronic medical record system.
Floating between units is not required for this position.
Candidates should have strong skills in Labor and Delivery, Postpartum, Circulate, and Newborn Care to be successful in this role.
