Job Title: LDRP Registered Nurse Profession: Nursing Specialty: Labor and Delivery Duration: 13 weeks Shift: 12 Hour Nights Hours per Shift: 12 hours Experience: Minimum of 2 years License: Valid RN License required Certifications: BLS, NRP Must-Have: - Candidates must not be full-time, part-time, or PRN with any facility associated with the organization. - Candidates must pass an exam during orientation with a required score of 90%. - Valid driver’s license is required. - Prohibition of artificial nails in all departments providing patient care. Description: The position is for a Registered Nurse specializing in Labor and Delivery. This role includes providing care for patients in the Labor and Delivery unit. Common patient diagnoses include intrauterine pregnancy, pre-eclampsia, and gestational diabetes. Nurses will be required to titrate various medications such as Pitocin, magnesium, and antihypertensives. There will be a charge nurse on each shift who may take an assignment. An OB tech will be available per shift to assist with tasks. Shifts will generally be from 0630 to 1900 or from 1830 to 0700. Weekend requirements include working every third weekend. Holiday requirements will rotate over major and minor holidays every three years. Floating to other departments in the hospital may occur voluntarily. Unit-specific orientation will include two shifts. All requests for time off should be submitted upfront and will be limited. The facility can cancel a maximum of four shifts per a 13-week assignment. The charting system utilized is EPIC. The position is in an acute care setting. All candidates must have the necessary certifications in BLS and NRP.
