Job Title: Registered Nurse Profession: RN Specialty: Labor and Delivery Duration: 13 weeks Shift: Days Hours per Shift: 36 Experience: Minimum of 2 years of Labor and Delivery experience in a level 1 trauma setting and at least 2 years of travel experience License: Current RN License or multistate compact RN License Certifications: BLS, ACLS, Intermediate Fetal Monitoring certificate, Neonatal Resuscitation Program (NRP) Advance Provider OR NRP Instructor Must-Have: Knowledge of professional nursing theory, practices, techniques and procedures Description: Under general supervision, provides nursing care in a hospital to a variety of patients with health problems ranging from simple to complex. Assumes responsibility for an assigned group of patients. Documents patient responses to nursing interventions and prescribed medical treatments; notes all changes in physician orders on assigned patients. Assists physician in the examination of patients and in performing minor diagnostic procedures and treatments. Obtains and monitors physiological data of patients, observes physiological manifestations, and intervenes when necessary. Administers medication as prescribed; initiates, regulates, and monitors intravenous infusions and blood products. Delivers patient care competently. Interacts with family and patient in sharing the care plan while in the hospital and at the time of discharge. Informs patient and family of hospital procedures. Makes referrals regarding patient care needs to appropriate personnel. Delegates tasks to support staff. Performs other duties as assigned.
