Job Title: RN Labor and Delivery Profession: Registered Nurse Specialty: Labor and Delivery Duration: 13 weeks Shift: Nights Hours per Shift: 40 Experience: Minimum of 2 years of Labor and Delivery experience in a level 1 trauma setting. License: Current RN License issued by the applicable State Board of Nursing or a current multistate compact RN License. Certifications: BLS, ACLS, Intermediate Fetal Monitoring certificate, Neonatal Resuscitation Program (NRP) Advance Provider or NRP Instructor. Must-Have: Knowledge of professional nursing theory, practices, techniques, and procedures. Description: Under general supervision, provides nursing care in a hospital to patients with a variety of health problems ranging from simple to complex. Assumes responsibility for an assigned group of patients. Documents patient responses to nursing interventions and prescribed medical treatments. Notes all changes in physician orders for assigned patients. Assists physicians in the examination of patients and in performing minor diagnostic procedures and treatments. Obtains and monitors physiological data of patients. Observes physiological manifestations of patients and intervenes when necessary. Administers medication as prescribed. Initiates, regulates, and monitors intravenous infusions and blood products. Delivers patient care competently. Interacts with patients and their families to share care plans during hospitalization and at the time of discharge. Informs patients and families of hospital procedures. Makes referrals regarding patient care needs to appropriate personnel. Delegates tasks to support staff. Performs other duties as assigned. Demonstrates the ability to organize, plan, coordinate, and evaluate nursing services. Maintains good working relationships with other employees. Exhibits good verbal and written communication skills. Responds effectively to cultural and language needs of patients and visitors. Possesses some computer skills.
