Must-Have: Associate Degree in Nursing (ADN) required; Bachelor of Science in Nursing (BSN) preferred. Description: Registered Nurse I is a compassionate, licensed professional who delivers safe, high-quality, patient- and family-centered care through the full nursing process: assessment, diagnosis, planning, implementation, and evaluation. You will coordinate individualized patient education and guide and supervise ancillary team members. Collaboration with interdisciplinary teams is essential, and you must consistently uphold professional nursing standards. All practice must align with the Nurse Practice Act, hospital policies, procedures, and current evidence-based guidelines. Key Responsibilities include conducting thorough patient assessments and developing, implementing, and evaluating individualized care plans. Deliver direct patient care across the lifespan while promoting optimal health outcomes. Provide clear, culturally sensitive education to patients and families, supporting health literacy and successful transitions of care. Direct and supervise licensed practical nurses, nursing assistants, and other ancillary personnel. Maintain accurate and timely documentation in the electronic health record. Collaborate effectively with physicians, therapists, and the broader care team. Participate in quality improvement, patient safety initiatives, and ongoing professional development. Flexibility is required, as you may need to float to other departments with appropriate training. Perform additional duties as assigned to support hospital operations and meet patient needs. General Qualifications include education and clinical experience that provide the knowledge, skills, and abilities needed for the assigned department. Excellent interpersonal, communication, and critical-thinking skills are a must. You must be able to deliver compassionate, culturally competent care to patients of all ages. A strong team player with flexibility and adaptability in a fast-paced environment is essential. A commitment to professional growth and lifelong learning is vital. Physical, Environmental & Psychological Considerations include frequent exposure to bloodborne pathogens, body fluids, infectious diseases, and biohazardous materials. Work primarily occurs in a temperature-controlled hospital setting, with occasional exposure to varied sounds, odors, and emotionally challenging situations. Must be physically able to lift, position, and transfer patients using proper body mechanics and assistive equipment. The ability to work effectively under stress, respond calmly to emergencies, and maintain strong problem-solving and coping skills is needed. You should be team-oriented, adaptable, and resilient in dynamic clinical situations. Department-Specific Qualifications for Labor, Delivery, Recovery, Postpartum (LDRP) include current BLS, ACLS, NRP, and Intermediate Fetal Monitoring required. OPS Emergency Workshop and STABLE certification are required within 12 months. SAFER Technician certification is preferred. You must be skilled in all aspects of perinatal care, labor support, delivery, and newborn assessment. Knowledge of sterile technique and sterile field maintenance is necessary.
