Job Title: Labor and Delivery Registered Nurse Profession: Registered Nurse Specialty: Labor and Delivery Duration: 20 Weeks Shift: Night Hours per Shift: 12 Hours (19:00 - 07:00) Experience: Minimum 1 year required License: Must have a valid nursing license Certifications: BCLS and NRP required; AWHONN Intermediate preferred Must-Have: Must be able to care for all aspects of labor and delivery including triage antepartum, intrapartum, postpartum, and newborn care. Skills required: Fetal heart monitoring (FHM) and IV start. Description: This position is for a Labor and Delivery Registered Nurse. The nurse will work the night shift from 7 PM to 7 AM. Patient ratios are 1:2-3 during night shifts. Average daily census is 1-2 patients. One year of experience is required. First-time travelers accepted. Weekend requirements will be for every other weekend, with flexibility for every third weekend. The nurse must be willing to float to units outside of the Labor and Delivery department to assist with patient care. This may include monitoring patients at risk, taking vital signs, and providing assistance with toileting and repositioning. There are no expectations of taking patient assignments outside of the OB unit. Candidates must be able to demonstrate skills such as administration of medications, assistance with deliveries, and postpartum care. The facility supports interdisciplinary services including social services and pharmacy. Experience with Epic charting system is required. The unit handles obstetrics, gynecological surgeries, and minor surgeries for non-OB patients. Special equipment utilized includes monitoring devices for fetal heart rates. Travel candidates must meet state compliance requirements. All applicants must have one supervisory reference available upon submission.
