Job Title: Registered Nurse Profession: Nursing Specialty: Labor and Delivery Duration: 13 Weeks Shift: 12-Hour Days Hours per Shift: 36 hours per week Experience: 2 years License: Required Certifications: ACLS BLS Intermediate Fetal Monitoring NRP Must-Have: LDRP experience Couplet care Circulate in OR Description: Hiring Process includes candidate interview and interview with clinical team. No unit manager involvement in the hiring process. Candidates must be within 60 miles radius and provide a driver's license. Clinicians are required to be in state for the week of orientation even if first-day modules are remote. The unit consists of L&D and postpartum areas. There are 12 LDRP rooms and 1 OR suite available for C-Sections. The unit has 1 triage bed and 12 postpartum beds. Approximately 1.5 births occur per day, totaling 50-60 births per month. AWHONN guidelines for ratios are followed. ACLS, NRP, and BLS certifications are required. Must have experience with LDRP, couplet care, and circulating in the OR. RNs are required to titrate drips, including pitocin. Charge nurses typically have an assignment. There is one surgical tech in the unit. An OB/Neonatologist and Anesthesia are not in-house 24/7. The unit does not have RT equipment. Adult telemetry is not used, but fetal monitoring is required. The EFM system utilized is GE and OBIX. Shifts are filled as needed, with some options for grouping or separating shifts based on preference. Every other weekend work is required. There are no holiday requirements. Call or standby may be required per policy. Floating to other units is also a requirement. Dress code is professional colors. Unit/department specific orientation lasts 1-2 shifts. The cancellation policy allows the facility to cancel up to 4 shifts per 13-week assignment. The charting system used is EPIC. A BSN is not required. The Trauma Level is 3. The care setting is acute. The division is nursing. Shifts are during the day, with every other weekend work required. Floating between various units and some instances of being put on call, though this would occur only three times per contract period.
